Seven years ago I left my job as a BBC correspondent to set up my own media company. Having been a print and radio journalist for almost 20 years, I realised I had something to offer people seeking advice on how to deal with media interviews and so….The School of News was born:
Almost immediately we had a core of fantastic clients – from lawyers, and doctors to politicians, bankers and education leaders. Our training days, packed with TV, radio and press interviews, were engaging and fun, and clients left feeling confident and more able to deal with questions from pesky journalists – like me! Word spread and our reputation grew as the most relevant training company around for key decision makers. Our client list has now grown and our team of trainers has expanded, as have the range of professional studio spaces we use. We now have bases across the UK – from the state-of-the-art studios at MediaCityUK, and others across Manchester, Birmingham, Scotland, London and Bristol. As part of our growth strategy we decided we needed a shiny new name, a lovely new logo and a wonderful new website – and this is it!
So…we look a little newer and a little more interesting but the ethos behind what we do remains the same:
Tailored media training, messaging and strategy, developed by current journalists and interviewers, relevant in a changing media landscape.
To all our existing clients – who come back to us time and time again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your loyalty, for loving what we do, and for spreading the word.
To anyone curious about us….check us out:
