Caroline CheethamTrainer

    Caroline is an award-winning BBC broadcaster working for Radio 4 and Radio 5 live. She is also a news and feature writer for the national press, and is a Visiting Fellow and Lecturer in Journalism at the University of Salford. For the past seven years, Caroline has been a media consultant, designing media training courses and offering media strategy advice to experts and executives in both the public and private sector. Caroline began her career over 20 years ago in local and regional newspapers. She covered courts, councils and breaking news across the North West before being head hunted by BBC Radio 5 live, based in London. After producing the award-winning Breakfast Programme with Nicky Campbell and Victoria Derbyshire, she became the station’s Investigative Reporter. She then moved back to Manchester to be the regional radio correspondent for Radio 4 and 5 live, where she covered the biggest stories across the North of England. Caroline is now a freelance reporter and editor for Radio 4 and 5 live and a news writer for the national press but she devotes most of her time to media consultancy. She devises and executes media training courses tailored to meet the needs of clients and delegates.  From crisis management, to handling press conferences, broadcast interviews presentation skills and pitching press releases, she can advise on any aspect of dealing with the media.
